About This Scholarship
The Humans of Dementia Storytelling Scholarship is offered by Hilarity for Charity (HFC) — a nonprofit founded by actor Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Rogen. The scholarship aims to support students who have been personally impacted by Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias through the power of storytelling.
Whether through words or images, students are invited to share meaningful stories of individuals living with or lost to Alzheimer’s — honoring their lives and raising awareness about dementia.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, you must:
✅ Be a high school, undergraduate, or graduate student
✅ Be currently enrolled in a recognized institution in the U.S. or Canada
✅ Have been personally impacted by Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia (e.g., through a family member, caregiver role, or community experience)
✅ Be interested in storytelling to raise awareness about dementia
Submission
🔹 Written Category:
- Submit a story (750 words or less) profiling someone affected by Alzheimer’s or dementia
- Focus on their life before the condition and how they’ve inspired you
- Submit up to 3 original photos capturing a person affected by dementia
- Include brief captions that tell their story or significance
Scholarship Purpose
This scholarship supports educational, creative, or personal goals and encourages young people to become advocates and storytellers in the fight against Alzheimer’s.
