About This Scholarship

The Geneva Fund Scholarship is dedicated to empowering young women from marginalized communities, particularly those in Somalia, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Tanzania, who have faced educational setbacks due to early pregnancy.

This global scholarship supports teen mothers and currently pregnant young women who are determined to pursue a four-year college or university degree and build a better future for themselves and their children. It reflects a strong belief in resilience, education, and second chances.

Scholarship Award

  • Annual Award: $5,000 per recipient
  • Renewable: For up to four consecutive years (total of $20,000)
  • Disbursement: Funds are released at the start of each academic year
  • Note: Scholarship may be transferred if the student changes schools (subject to approval)

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be a young woman who gave birth at age 19 or younger or is currently pregnant
  • Be enrolled or planning to enroll in a four-year college or university (any country)
  • Be a first-time, returning, or transfer student whose education was paused due to parenting
  • Have a high school diploma, national secondary certificate, or equivalent (completed or in progress)
  • Demonstrate resilience, ambition, and a strong commitment to completing higher education

Special consideration is given to applicants from rural or marginalized regions in Eastern Africa.
