Scholarship Overview
The Cameron Impact Scholarship is a fully funded opportunity for outstanding high school students who demonstrate exceptional leadership, academic excellence, and a strong commitment to making a positive social impact. This prestigious scholarship is awarded to students who intend to pursue impactful careers in various fields particularly those committed to public service such as education, non-profits, government, or the military.
Each year, approximately 25% of the scholarships are reserved for students with a clear professional goal in public service, and all recipients are expected to be changemakers in their communities and beyond.
Scholarship Benefits
- Full tuition and educational expenses for 4 years of undergraduate study at an accredited U.S. university.
- Participation in the annual Cameron Impact Scholars Summit throughout the 4-year program to foster leadership, networking, and collaboration.
- Personal and professional development support to empower lifelong service-driven careers.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Have a minimum GPA equivalent to 3.7/4.0 (typically an A or strong B+ average).
- Be a citizen of an Eastern African country (e.g., Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia).
- Be a high school junior (Form 5 or equivalent) at the time of application, with plans to begin full-time university studies in the U.S. the following year.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, a dedication to community service, and active engagement in extracurricular activities.
- Submit the following by the deadline:
- Completed online application
- Two letters of recommendation (one from school staff)
- High school transcript (unofficial copies accepted)
Application Process
- Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until 3,000 applications are received. Early submission is strongly encouraged.
- The Selection Committee will conduct interviews (in-person or virtual) with 75–100 finalists in the Fall.
- Final scholarship recipients will be announced in December 2025.
- Late or incomplete applications or those affected by technical issues near the deadline will not be considered.
